Welcome to the Gulf Coast Region! We are a fun and diverse family who are doing our best to love God and his children with all our hearts. Our region stretches from Pearland to Baytown and includes everything from the south Beltway down to Galveston. We all meet together as one widespread Region on most Sunday mornings, but we are best defined by our small group Bible studies. These small groups echo the in home meetings so common to the Bible (Acts 2:46), and they allow us to create a sense of spiritual family built on shared efforts to get our families to heaven together.
If you’d like to develop authentic and enduring relationships with others, then you’ll be glad to know that there’s a place for you in our family. In the Greater Houston Church, we’re striving to be the church described in the Bible (emphasis on striving!), a church with relevant and biblical teaching, inspiring preaching, heart-felt worship, honest friendships, a focus on prayer, and compassionate care for those in need. Come experience one of our services. Or, if you would prefer to meet in a smaller group or one-on-one, please contact us. We look forward to meeting you!

Gulf Coast Region Evangelist & Women's Ministry Leader
Barrett and Rachel O'Connell
Barrett and Rachel both became Christians in the teen ministry. Barrett was converted as a sophomore in High School in Dallas, and Rachel in Oklahoma City just before starting High School. They met in college while both were on a mission team, planting a church in Amarillo, Texas. In 2001 they both moved to Houston where they were married in 2004. After serving as volunteers in the teen ministry for several years, they became full-time Youth Ministers in 2008. Since then they have transitioned to work with Adult ministries, and they both maintain a passion for helping God work powerfully in families and marriages. They have two children, Kaylie and Bryce.
