The Greater Houston Church Youth Ministry
Are you ready to begin your journey to knowing God and have some fun along the way? The Greater Houston Church Youth Ministry is committed to helping high school students learn more about the nature of God, explore and study the Bible, and even make the decision to become true disciples of Jesus Christ. We are a dynamic ministry and a diverse group! We enjoy spending time together and building deep and lasting friendships with others.
Our ministry has a wide variety of opportunities for fellowship and fun!
Bible study/Discipleship groups – Teens get together in small groups for more personal discussion and training from the Bible.
Teen Midweek services – Teens come together on Thursdays for a lesson and worship.
Camping adventures – Teens take a road trip to a campsite and spend a few days “roughing it” together in nature.
Parties – Teens enjoy all types of parties including glow-in-the-dark parties, themed costume parties, dance parties and holiday parties.
Movie/Game nights – Teens go out to the movies or come together at a smaller venue to enjoy a movie together. Teens also meet at a home or other venue to play board games, create new games and challenge each other.
Sleepovers/Lock-Ins – Teens spend all night together talking, laughing, cooking, playing sports/video games and enjoying great food. Guys and girls are in separate venues.
Sporting events – Teens go to high school and professional sporting events together to support their friends or their favorite local teams.
Karaoke/Talent Nights – This event is highlighted by a “coffee house” atmosphere in which teens can showcase their musical talents by singing/playing a song of choice or belting out familiar tunes accompanied by karaoke music and lyrics.
Community service – Teens spend time serving others within the church or throughout the community. Past service opportunities include visits to retirement homes, helping families move, cooking and cleaning at homeless shelters, raising money for special missions and mentoring/tutoring young children.
We also come together with other youth ministries across Texas, Oklahoma and Louisiana for larger events such as a week-long Teen Camp, Teen Prom, Teen-Led Conference and the annual Float Trip, where we float down a lazy river while splashing, relaxing and getting to know new friends.
Our ministry is divided into four geographic regions and we hope you can get involved with a group near you. Please contact Damon Curtis firstname.lastname@example.org to find out how to plug into our exciting and inspiring youth ministry!!
